- The Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) has participated in the Southern Cone Congress of the World Free Zones Organization where he has taken the opportunity to present the 3D Factory Incubator Success Case.
- The main free zones in Argentina, Uruguay Brazil, Paraguay and Colombia have confirmed their assistance to the World Free Zones Congress to be held on June 26-28 in Barcelona organized by the CZFB.
Barcelona, 10th of April 2019. – The Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro, and the managing director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, are participating in the Southern Cone Regional Congress of the World FZO, to take place on April 9 and 10 y Buenos Aires (Argentina). Mr. Navarro and Ms. Sorigué are profiting this meeting point with the Argentinian, Uruguayan, Brazilian, Paraguayan and Colombian free zones to promote the 2019 World Free Zones’ Congress that the CZFB will organize in Barcelona on June 26-28.
Pere Navarro has participated this morning as a speaker in this Congress where he has taken the opportunity to encourage the assistants to attend the June world gathering. At the same time, the Special Delegate of the State at the CZFB has made the 3D Factory Incubator Success Case known, the first high technology European incubator for adding 3D printing, promoted by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and the Fundación LEITAT.
The Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona Pere Navarro, has explained that “the experience is being very positive because we have spoken with the main free zones of the Southern Cone and they have confirmed that they will be present at the World Free Zones’ Congress that we will organize in June in Barcelona and that will project our city internationally.” Similarly, Navarro added that “our 3D Factory Incubator success case has arisen great interest among congress attendees who understand that the evolution of 3D printing will mark a good part of the industrial processes of the future and, therefore, change the way we work and live. “
On the other hand, the managing director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué, has explained that ” we are having these days in Buenos Aires an intense agenda of meetings that are being very positive and that has made us expect the World Congress of Free Zones 2019 to be a success, in terms of attendees as well as in quality and importance of the subjects to be debated “. Ms. Sorigué has also recalled that “we hope to gather more than 1,500 international trade decision makers from more than 70 countries.”
The 2019 World Free Zones Congress will be held in parallel with SIL 2019 – Leading Exhibition for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain in Southern Europe- eDelivery Barcelona Expo & Congress – the International eCommerce Delivery, Logistics and Last Mile Exhibition -, and the InTrade Summit BCN. This last event, in turn, includes the celebration of the ALACAT Congress -the largest congress of cargo agents and logistics operators in Latin America-, the International Congress of Authorized Economic Operators (OEAs), and the MedaLogistics Summit.
It should be noted that the 2019 World Free Trade Zone Congress will be held in Europe for the first time ever, since the previous editions were held in Dubai (2015, 2016 and 2018) and Cartagena de Indias (2017). The Barcelona candidature, represented by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, beat in its day the proposals from Egypt, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Serbia.
